Parasight for Dogs + Cats

Parasight System tests
with 1 gram or loop sample.

As pet owners, caretakers, and clinicians you want your dogs, cats, and family to be safe and healthy. The best way to accomplish this is to keep track of their health and environment through routine wellness exams by a veterinarian, including regular fecal examinations.

A common health risk in dogs and cats and their owners is parasites. Early diagnosis for the presence and identity of intestinal parasite is vital. Veterinarians are on the front line of preventing transmission of pet-associated zoonotic parasite infections because of their knowledge of the potential risks to the pet, owners, and community. Several types of internal parasites infect animals of any age: puppies, kittens, and shelter dogs being the biggest victims. While many can be asymptomatic carriers of parasites, others become extremely ill. Adult parasitic worms are not always visible in feces; therefore, it is important to have the animals’ stool checked routinely by a veterinarian.

Not all parasites respond to the same treatment and no single antiparasitic works against all kinds of parasites. Therefore, a repeat fecal testing is recommended following the completion of treatment. This will identify a resistance to the anthelmintic used, as currently reported in hookworms and roundworms in dogs. Parasight’s lower cost per test and swift results increases operational efficiency, while facilitating client compliance and point of care service.

The preparation, methodologies, and level of training of personnel who conduct fecal examination can often affect test results.1 Parasight System takes the guess work out of diagnostics with enhanced AI learning, fluorescence staining, simple and efficient preparation of the sample. Parasight for pets is scientifically validated to diagnose and identify parasites with a greater sensitivity, accuracy, specificity, repeatability than any other system in the market at ½ the cost and timeThis is done using our patented, 2-minute sample preparation combining our ability to test a full 6cc of fecal sample compared to other methodologies using only a drop of sample to test.

Parasight System, unlike any other automated systems, can test using 1 gram samples for a clinical test or fecal loop samples obtained by veterinarian
